Diary Update

21st March 2010 Great tits continue to be around the garden. The blue tit box has had a few visitors, but no bird has appeared to go inside yet - not while we have been around anyway. We wondered if it was anything to do with the thickness of the wood with the hole in. We therefore have decided today to change the hole panel for the old box panel - where we had birds nesting for a few years. Lets see what happens! 14th March 2010 Great tits have already been inspecting both of our Great Tit boxes. We suspect that it is the same pair looking at both houses - safer to assume this as we were disappointed last year after thinking that we had two different pairs!! No action as yet in the Blue Tit box - for some reason, since we changed this box to a new one with a camera, they are just not interested in it. Perhaps we will have to re-think this for next year. We also have acquired a bat box as a Christmas present. We are wondering if we can get a camera for this, but are a bit unsure as to where to site this yet.
